Coventry born Ian Bell hit 126 for England in the first One Day International against the West Indies at Southampton.
England were put into bat after losing the toss and Bell who lost his fellow opener Alistair Cook after only three balls, worked well with fellow Warwickshire player Jon Trott.
Bell's fifty came off 43 balls with six fours and a six and the duo put on 107 runs before Trott was out for 42, caught behind by Ramdin.
Bell continued and passed the century mark from 95 balls. However, having reached 126, he was the fifth English batsman out when he was caught behind by Ramdin in the 40th over.
England later closed on 288-6.
In reply, West Indies were 172 all out to give England a win by 114 under the Duckworth\Lewis method.
