Ireland's Sam Bennett outsprinted Mark Cavendish to take the victory on stage of the Giro della Toscana.
Seven riders had got clear on an 185.3km stage between Montecatini Terme and Pontedera which included the Monte Serra climb.
They were brought back on the closing circuit and the race ended with a sprint which Sam Bennett of Bora Argon 18, who finished last in the 2016 Tour De France, won in 4.36.43 ahead of Mark Cavendish and Daniele Bennati who won this two stage race overall.
“When I made it well placed over the last climb, that really motivated me,” said Bennett about his victory to the media.
“I think Mark struggled more there. The guys did a brilliant job then and a was perfectly placed on the last kilometre. Bardiani started the lead-out, I was on Mark’s wheel around the final corner and I think a carried more speed into the home straight then. To be on the top of the podium again is great for me, but it is also great for the whole team.”
