BMC has won the team trial on the opening day of the Tirreno-Adriactico.
This year's race between the two seas in Italy, started with a team time trial over 22.7kms.
Movistar were the first team down the ramp and they completed the course in 24.24 to set a time to beat which was soon bettered by Tinkoff who finished in 24:06.
Tinkoff's time in the hot seat lasted until FDJ finished in 24.04 and Etixx Quick Step came home in 23.57.
BMC were fancied to do well and this they did, coming home in 23.55 to take the victory.
Daniel Oss was the first man home for BMC and he will be in the leader's jersey for stage two.
