Centures from Jon Trott and Varun Chopra gave Warwickshire County Cricket Club a good start to their County Championship against Sussex at Hove.
Sussex won the toss and put Warwicks into bat. Things did not start well with Will Porterfield out after making four runs and Ian Bell going for a duck when he was bowled by former Warwickshire bowler Jimmy Anyon.
However, Varun Chopra and Jon Trott came to the crease and put on a superb third wicket partnership of 219 before Chopra was trapped lbw by Wells after making 105 from 221 balls.
That saw Warwicks on 232-3 and twenty five more runs were added before Jim Troughton went for 12, caught by Yardy off the bowling of Monty Panesar.
Darren Maddy only added a single but Trott carried on to finish the day on 132 not out from 233 including 21 fours with Chris Wright 13 not out and Warwicks on 281-5.
