Etixx Quick Step are the World Team Time Trial Champions.
In Doha, Qatar, the UCI World Championship course was over forty kilometres and saw Skydive Dubai as one of the early teams down the ramp.
Team Sky whose six riders were Vasil Kiryienka, Michal Kwiatkowski, Nicolas Roche, Ben Swift, Geraint Thomas and Danny Van Poppel were quick at the first check point.
Stradally Bike were the first team home and they set the time to beat of 49.56, a time slower than many of the women's teams who hd competed on the same course.
That time was soon beaten by Sky Dive Dubai and then the Israel Cycling Academy who finished a minute and nineteen seconds quicker in 46.57.
Belgium side Veranda Willems team set 46:11 at the finish to take the lead before the World Tour teams started to come home.
Team Katusha finished in 44.33 to go with LottoNL-Jumbo finishing in 43.27.18.
Giant Alpecin finished in 43:58 before Team Sky came home in 43.26 and Orica Bike Exchange in 43.09.
Etixx Quick Step were amongst the favourites and although they dropped Julien Vermote, they finished in 42,39.
American side BMC with Rohan Dennis in their team were down to four but they were not able to get the time they wanted, finishing 11.69 down and it was Etixx Quick Step with Marcel Kittel and Tony Martin in their ranks, who took the gold medal with BMC second and Orica Bike Exchange third.
