Warwickshire County Cricket Club were 254-6 on the opening day of their County Championship game with Nottinghamshire at Edgbaston.
Warwicks won the toss and elected to bat and put on 28 before Varun Chopra, who had made ten was caught by Patal off the bowling of Fletcher and fifteen more runs had been added when Will Porterfield was bowled by Andre Adams for ten.
Warwicks had struggled to score runs in the morning session but in the first session after lunch, Ian Westwood and Laurie Evans moved the score to 143 before Westwood who had made 68 from 152 balls was caught by Adams to give Samit Patal a wicket.
Evans and Ambrose added 61 before the wicket keeper was caught behind by Chris Read off the bowling of Adams.
Evans who went on to make an unbeaten 85 at stumps, lost Chris Woakes, bowled by Patal for 14 and Rikki Clarke out for a duck to give Adams a third wicket as Warwicks ended the day on 254-6.
