Orica GreenEdge's Caleb Ewen took the Mitchelton Bay Classic when he took the win on the fourth and final stage.
Robbie Hucker (Avanti IsoWhey) and Josh Taylor (State of the Matter / MAAP) led early in this criterium race over an hour but by the half way stage, the field were back together and stayed together until the bunch sprint which Ewen won in a time of 1.00.07 ahead of Brenton Jones (Drapac) and team mate Alex Edmondson, making his move on the last corner.
The win which was Ewen's third in four races gave him enough points to take the overall title.
Look – the boys again," said Ewan to cyclingnews.com. "I always say it. They were so strong. They rode the whole race on the front. They were so impressive. Keeping me up near the front makes it a lot smoother for me, so I can save a lot of energy.
"I've done the same thing a couple times before. "I've kicked before the corner. I think that's the way you have to do it here. I thought: 'If I can come out of the corner all right, I should have it.'"
"I thought I had braked enough going into it, but as I was through it, I was thinking: 'Oh gosh. I'm going a bit fast.' I got around it all right. I had a little gap coming out of it. It's not far from that corner to the finish, so you really have to go through it in first place to win here."
