Warwickshire County Cricket Club got off to a good start on the opening day of their first County Championship game of the new season,
The Division One winners met the Division Two winners at Edgbaston and put the vistors into bat after winning the toss.
Fielding a pretty much expected team, Warwicks got straight into the vistors and in the fourth over, Chris Wright had Godleman caught by Varun Chopra with just seven runs on the board.
Eleven more runs were added before the duo combined again to remove Madsen for thirteen.
The total had moved on to fifty six when Oliver Hannon-Darby trapped Wes Durston who hit five fours in a knock of 32, lbw,
Darren Redfern added 34 before he was trapped lbw by Jeetan Patal who also took the wicket of Shiv Chanderpaul for fifteen.
Whiteley and Pointon went cheaply and when Chesney Hughes went for 20, Derbyshire were in trouble at 154-8.
Tony Palladino made 68 from 110 balls hitting eight fours and six but when he was caught by Jim Troughton off the bowling of Tom Milnes, Derbyshire were all out for 226.
Warwicks ended the day on 14-0.
