Hannah Barnes is the new British Women's Road Race champion.
The course for the Women's Race in Stockton On Tees was over a 106km course which included six laps of a 13.6km circuit.
Eighty one riders started the race and it was Jennifer George of Drops Cycling who started the first attack getting six seconds clear as the race went through Thorpe Thewles.
She was reigned in and with fifteen miles of this 66 mile course races, Dame Sarah Storey powered away, taking a lead of a minute and twenty seconds.
A chase group including Nikki Harris, Hannah Barnes, Alice Barnes, Jennifer George, Lucy Shaw, Neah Evans, Molly Weaver, Claire Rose, Annasley Park, Lucy Garner and Dani King started to bring back Storey and they were able to join her.
The most they got was a minute clear and with two laps left of the three small circuits around Stockton, the gap stood at 38 seconds.
With a mile left, it was obvious that the winner could come from this group and so it proved with Hannah Barnes taking the win from her sister Alice, who also took the U23 title, followed by Lucy Garner, Dani King and Jennifer George.
