Coventry born Ian Bell made 159 for England on the third day of Second Test against India at Trent Bridge.
Bell had made 137 when he was run out for having strolled out of the crease before the ball was dead, thinking that time had been called,
Bell left the field and there were boos. During the tea interval, England captain Andrew Strauss and coach Andy Flower are known to have gone to the Indian dressing room to ask MS Dhoni if the run-out decision could be overturned and the Indian team who were booed when they returned to the pitch agreed to withdraw the appeal and Bell returned to applause for all.
Bell went on to complete his 150 before being caught by Laxman.off Yuvraj.
Jon Trott, who has a shoulder injury, only added two runs and England closed on 441-6, some 374 runs ahead with four wickets remaining.
