Jon Izagirre Insausti of Movistar has won the GP Miguel Indurain in the Nevarra region of Spain.
Britain's Adam Yates of Orica GreenEdge was part of a select group which got away with fifty kilometres left.
Yates led but was brought back by the final categorised climb of the Eraul and Sergio Luis Henao of Team Sky, Movistar’s Giovanni Visconti and Jon Izagirre Insausti got clear.
Insausti picked his moment and away he went to win in 4.37.18 ahead of Henao whom he had battled out the final few kilometres with.
Moreno Moser of Cannondale got up to take third place with Britain's Hugh Carty of Caja Rural in eighth place.
Adam Yates was 15th with Phil Deignan of Team Sky in 36th place.
"It was a bit complicated at first with that break of 14 but we responded really well and in the final part we made a break with three from Sky, us three, and then in the end on the final climb I was able to fight for the win against Sergio,” said Izagirre to the media about his victory.
