Darren Maddy and Rikki Clarke both hit centuries as Warwicks took command on the third day of the County Championship game versus Lancashire at Aigburth.
Warwicks resumed on 68-5 and although they lost Chris Wright for three and Tim Ambrose for a duck, Maddy and Clarke put on 224 for the eighth wicket when Maddy went for 112 from 208 balls.
Clarke had hit three sixes and thirteen fours in a brilliant innings of 140 but he was the third victim of Hogg who bowled him.
Patel followed shortly afterwards and Warwicks were all out for 329.
Keith Barker came in and took 3-20 from ten overs as Lancs ended the day on 44-4.
