Warwickshire County Cricket Club beat Northamptonshire by six wickets in their Friends Life t20, Midlands/Wales/West Group game at Edgbaston tonight.
Northamptonshire won the toss and had reached 21 when Jeetan Patel caught Coetzer off the bowling off Chris Woakes.
Warwicks had recalled Chris Wright and he was hit for nineteen in his first two overs as the visitors moved their score on 54 before Patel bowled Newton who had made 34.
Cameron White hit an unbeaten 61 including two sixes as he and Niall O'Brien put on 62 for the third wicket, which saw Barker bowl O'Brien after he had made 38.
Wakely was caught in the 18th over by Clarke to give Darren Maddy a wicket as Northamptonshire closed on 149-4.
Rikki Clarke who opened for Warwicks only last five balls (one of which was a no ball), before he was out without scoring.
Ian Porterfield added seven as Warwicks reached 29-2 after five overs. That became 40-3 in the seventh over when Varun Chopra went for 25.
Darren Maddy and Laurie Evans came together and put on 45 before Maddy was caught by de Lange after making 24.
Warwicks needed 74 runs from 48 balls and Evans went after those. The batsman who was been in form for Warwicks Second X1 took his score to an unbeaten 68 whilst Chris Woakes chipped in with 23 as Warwicks reached their target with an over to spare.
