Chris Froome has said that his yellow jersey in the 103rd Tour De France was for his son Kellan.
Froome said: "My team mates this yellow jersey is for you as it is for David Brailsford. I could not be with a better team.
"This is also for Michelle and my son Kellan and Kellan: this victory is for you.
"My victory has come in the backdrop of a number of tragedies and my thoughts go again to those who lost their lives in those tragedies.
"The values of sport are so important to a free society. We all love the Tour de France. We love the Tour because it's unpredictable. But we love the more for what stays the same: the passion of the fans from every nation along the road side, the beauty of the French countryside and the bonds of friendship created through a true sport. These things will never change.
Just one more thing: [in French] merci pour votre gentillesse pendant ces difficiles semaines. Vive le Tour et vive la France!”
Froome then added on TV: “It's amazing, amazing. It doesn't wear off after two times. Rolling on the Champs-Elysées is the same, it's an amazing feeling. My team-mates have emptied themselves every day, so it was important to show on the finishing line this is a team sport, this is what it's all about, what we've worked for…
To be reunited with my boy here and to be able to hold him in my hands again is really special. He went a little bit ballistic with all the photographers, but it's such an amazing feeling.”
"All the emtions have come back," said Froome to Sky Sports. "It is just incredible. We have amazing support on the road and it was amazing today.
"The race has carried on and come together even more following the attacks in Nice where we do a lot of racing and preparation. The team has just been fantastic and I could not be more proud of them. Tonight we will let our hair down."
