Tony Martin, the former World Time Trial champion, could be returning back to his native Germny to ride for a German team, according to our friends at L'Equipe.
Martin is coming to the end of his contract with Etixx Quick Step and is wanted by Bora Argon 18 who introduced their new sponsors Hansgrohe, a bathroom fittings company, to the media in Saint Lo on Wednesday.
With new finance, the sums of which Hansgrohe's CEO refused to divulge, Bora Argon are looking for a World Tour licence for the 2017 season and have stated their intentions by being linked with first World Champion Peter Sagan who led the Tour De France after the second stage and now Tony Martin, whom they cannot sign officially until the transfer window opens in August.
