Warwickshire's Jon Trott has signed a new deal which will keep him at Edgbaston until the end of the 2015 season.

Trott signed for Warwicks in 2002 and hit 245 on his Second X1 debut for the Second XI, a century on his County Championship debut against Sussex in 2003 and 119 on his England Test Match debut to help England win the Ashes.

Jonathan said to Edgbaston.com: “It’s been fantastic to be part of the Warwickshire team for the last 10 years. We’ve got an exciting young squad that’s capable of challenging for trophies, an experienced and innovative coaching team, and some of the best facilities in world cricket. I’m looking forward to many more years here at Edgbaston.”

Ashley Giles, Warwickshire’s Director of Cricket, said: “Jonathan has made a massive impact at Warwickshire since joining the Club, and it’s a great boost that he’s committed to playing his County Cricket here at Edgbaston for the foreseeable future. He’s popular with everyone and we’re all delighted that’s he’s gone on to achieve so much with England over the last few years.

“Having two of the world’s top 10 batsmen (Jonathan and Ian Bell) training here with the squad since we started our pre-season programme has been great for the younger members. Both are fantastic role models and we wish them well in upcoming tour of the UAE for England’s Test Series against Pakistan.”
