Warwickshire County Cricket Club earned a superb draw on the final day of their County Championship Division One game at Taunton.
Resuming on 144-3, needing 515 to win, Varun Chopra went on to complete his century and had made 108 when he was bowled by the spin of Jack Leach.
Tim Ambrose joined Laurie Evans at the crease and the duo put on 102 for the fifth wicket with Ambose hitting thirteen fours in a rapid 65 before he caught by Hildreth off the bowling of Jamie Overton.
With the score on 315, Evans, who had made 55, fell prey to the same combination that had removed Ambrose.
Chris Woakes came in and steered Warwicks on 350-6 to the tea interval. But Woakes went bowled by Jamie Overton for 42,
Two overs later and with Warwicks on 371-7, the rain came down and the umpires took the players off.
After a ten minute delay, play continued and Jack Leach took his fifth wicket when the umpire spotted that the ball had hit Jeetan Patal and he was out for five
Another bad decision saw Chris Wright given out without scoring after Thomas appealed for lbw and got it.
Oliver Hannon-Dailby came in, with the score on 376-9 and was still there when it was announced that there was sixteen overs to be bowled in the final hour of play,
Rikki Clarke movwed the score past the four hundred mark and then brought up his fifty from 104 balls.
With fourteen minutes left, Hannon-Dalby jabbed a ball down and the television was called in. The decision was not out and Warwicks had survived for 140 overs.
Three more overs have been bowled when the umpires decided on a final over. Four dot balls before a four brought up the fifty partnership. it was down to the last ball which was a dot ball and a superb performance had earned Warwicks who finished in 427-9 with Clarke 61 not out and Hannon-Dalby ten not out.
