Yorkshire resumed on 57-1, needing 291 to win and there was hope in the morning session when overnight watchman Shazad was given out lbw to Neil Carter for 11.
The total had moved on to 111 when Lyth became the next third Yorkshire player out for 67, when he was caught by Ambrose off the bowling of Neil Carter.
McGrath fell victim to Imran Tahir eight runs later and then Tahir got his second wicket when Gale went for a duck after he was caught by Trott.
Yorkshire were 130-5 at lunch with Jack Rudolph and Jon Bairstow at the crease. The duo started to find runs with the bat in the second session and although Bairstow became Carter's third victim when he wa caught by Woakes for 81. Jack Rudolph steered his side past the required total to give Yorks a four wicket victory.
Warwicks next match is a County Championship game at Old Trafford against Lancashire starting on April 15th.
