Warwickshire County Cricket Club need 136 to win with eight wickets in hand in their opening County Championship game against Somerset.
Day three saw Somerset resumed on 127-4 and Chris Wright had Dockrell caught early.
Nick Compton and Jos Buttler put on 167 runs before Wright had Buttler trapped lbw for the sixth wicket.
Neil Carter bowled Trego for four before Wright took his third wicket when he bowled Compton after he had made 133.
Philander added eight and Adam Dibble 43 as Somerset were all out for 354.
That set Warwicks a target of 259 and they made forty before Neil Carter was out after making 26. Varun Chopra went for ten three runs later but an unbeaten 57 from Will Porterfield and 17 not out from Ian Westwood saw Warwicks close on 123-2.
