Warwickshire County Cricket Club's second eleven earned their first T20 win with a three run victory over Somerset in a double-header.
Both matches at Olton And West Warwickshire CC were affected by rain. The first saw Somerset making 117-1 form 11 overs before the rain came down. The sides were unable to get back on the pitch in the alloted match time and took a point each from the game.
In the second game, the rain reduced the match to a fourteen overs per side match.
Warwicks won the toss and batted first. They made 157-7 with Freddie Coleman 31, Steff Piolet 24 not out and Ateeq Javid 23.
More rain meant that Somerset were set a Duckworth/Lewis adjusted target of 155 from fourteen overs. Thornely hit 62 and Meschede 35 took the visitors to needing three runs to win but they ran out of balls to get the victory in and their fourteen over innings closed on 152-6.
June means T20 action for Warwickshire's first team. Their first game is on June 2nd away to Durham, followed by an away game at Yorkshire the next day. You can hear commentary from both matches via the website of BBC Coventry & Warwickshire.
