Streetly CC remain top of the WCL this week taking 20 point in an emphatic win over Kings heath with Lloyd making 79 of the 112 they required for victory after tea. Earlier Kings Heath had no answer to a Streetly bowling attack led by Hunt 4 for 29 as they were dismissed for 112 in just 33 overs. However because Streetly won the toss and put Kings Heath in their point total for the win was restricted to 20 points and both Bablake (3rd) and Olton & WW (2nd) closed the gap by 4 points as they both achieved 24 pointers. Olton halted follow contenders Bedworth’s progress losing only 4 wickets knocking off the way sides 188-8, the decisive partnership or 92 betwen Marc Webb - 48 Gareth Simpson 55 not out at the end.

Division 1 saw a thriller at Pickwick with both sides making over 300. Offchurch with 331 for 6 on the board at tea and two centurions Saleem 115, Qaiser 111 must have felt good about their chances of a win. Pickwick’s response however fell just 1 run short at 330 for 8, with saqib 68, zaighum 64, Zulqarnain 86. At the top of the table Four Oaks Saints despite another impressive outing from H Nadeem with 6 for 43, lost failing to knock off the 134 for victory at Bronze, whilst Stockton took full advantage to go top with a winning draw at home to Pak Shaheen. The Stockton innings was setup by a 145 run partnership between Michael Hughes - 64 Terry Cooper 74 as they reached 234 for 8 off their 50 overs. The Pakshaheen openers took them to 44 without loss before a collapse set in when Jake Hooker coming on as first change in combination with Owen Edwards helped themselves to a steady stream of wickets. At 93 for 8 the job seemed done, bute the rear guard actions form Purushottam Dubey coming in 4 and ending 41 not out and number 10 Qamar Zaman 6 valuable runs saw them recover to end 137 for 8 saving the draw.

Marston Green and Rugby are the pace setters in Division 2 , 20 points for Marston Green against Masseys. Rugby closing the gap to a single point, 24 points, Robards 146 not out equally impressive as 262 for 8 by standard did not pose an issue. Rugby 262 for loss of 3.

Best batting of the day 196 for Irfan for Aston id D5 2nds, as aston in a massive 383 for 6. Needless to say Aston took all 24 points on offer, winning by over 200 runs. Best Bowling another 8 for this week in the premier division as Highway dispatched bottom club Ansley for 110 to leave them winless after 6 and helping highway to mid table respectability.
