Tight bowling this week from Kings Heath’s Ian Carey, who impressively picked up 4 of the top 5 Nuneaton wickets at Weddington road taking 4 for 21 in 13. With Carey out of the attack Lee McNeil top scoring at 58, Ruban Field 32 and Martin Cox 23 not out rebuilt the innings, Nuneaton closing at 170 for 7 in their 50 overs. After a wobble in the earl overs seeing in form Gavin Shephard and Andre Davis go cheaply, Stuart Shephard and John Pemberton share 100 stand for the 3rd wicket to all but see King’s Heath home. J Blythe finished the job however as the Premier League run away leaders picked up another big win, now more than 50 points clear at the top , Kings Heath are the team to beat in this year’s Premier Division ! . Pak Shaheen’s win in Division1 was thee significant move of the day with leaders Rugby going down at Walsall WMF, and Southam failing to take advantage losing at home to Warwick. Rugby’s loss was a nail bitter as Walsall had only 137 on the board, the visitors falling just 1 run short. It was even closer at Bronze were the last Atherstone wicket fell with scores level on 150 in a day were results seemed to turn the form book on it head. Castle Bromwich and Lyndworth still lead the way in Division 2 with Lyndworth defending 120 all out in 47 overs. In another strange result Solihull Municiple fought hard for 96 runs in 53 overs to deny Lyndworth the win. Castle Bromwich meanwhile needed only 29 overs to dismiss Mosele Ashfield for 93, on their way to a 4 wicket victory After last weeks miserable weather which rained off all fixtures in the 3rd XI and Single Team league it was nice to see most matches being placed this week. Not surprisingly with the poor start to the season which has seen more than 50% of matches in the leage called off there is not yet a clear leader. Match of the day here was league leaders Attock hosting Small Heath Baptist Church, won by Small Heath b 4 wickets to take them second, whilst knocking Attock off second down to fourth . Water Orton who were top also game unstuck at Attlebro, the home side scoring 244 for 6, before Water Orton replied with 149 all out. Water Orton stayed top but are now closer to the pack, with Attlebro going 3rd.
