Warwickshire County Cricket Club were beaten by Nottinghamshire by 28 runs in their fourth T20 match.

Notts won the toss and decided to bat first against a Warwickshire side without Chris Woakes.

Alex Hales and Riki Wessels opened for the Outlaws and had made thirteen when Neil Carter struck to have Hales caught by Tim Ambrose.

In the ninth over, Warwicks took their second wicket when Voges was caught by Clarke off the bowling of Ant Botha.

That saw Notts who had won their last two games on 74-2 and Wessels passed the fifty mark off 32 balls, hitting six fours and two sixes.

Wessels was eventually run out for seventy by Darren Maddy before Will Porterfield took two catches to remove Patel and Read by the 15th over which saw Notts on 132-5.

They had moved the score on to 171 with David Hussey in good form, when Mullaney who had made 16 was bowled by Stefan Piolet.

In the final over, Hussey, who had made 56, was caught by Maddy to give Neil Carter his second wicket as Notts finished on 193-7.

Warwicks had made sixteen when Varuin Chopra was caught on the mid-wicket boundary.

In the fourth over, a complete lack of communication saw Neil Carter run out by Voges after Carter who had made ten and Porterfield went for an extra run after a mis-field.

Will Porterfield had made 12 but took no further part in the match after giving Carter a catch to leave Warwicks on 36-3.

The Bears, with Jim Troughton and Darren Maddy, were finding it tough going and only moved on to 51-3 in the ninth over.

Troughton was out after making 30, leaving Warwicks with six wickets left and needing 102 runs from eight overs.

Darren Maddy did his best to try and give Warwicks a fighting chance but when he was out for 62, the going got tougher.

Keith Barker made 20, Clarke 2, Botha 12 and Stefan Piolet a duck and when Tim Ambrose was out for six, Warwicks were all out for 165.
