“We have to start winning” is the clear message to Micky Adams and his troops as they take on Watford at the Arena tonight at 7.45pm.
Having been booed off after the home defeat by Hull City on Saturday, the Sky Blues must start to pick up points and keep themselves clear of the relegation zone.
It looks likely that Micky Adams will have the same sixteen players that were involved in Saturday’s game, providing Gary McSheffrey and Claus Jorgensen over-come knocks and strains.
Andy Whing is out with a hamstring picked up on Friday in training, Matt Heath who has a groin injury has suffered what Adams described as “a little set-back” whilst Richard Shaw is still suffering from headaches after receiving concussion during the 1-1 draw at Derby. Stuart Giddings and Neil Wood are also out injured.
Watford boss Adrian Boothroyd is likely to bring in fit again Gavin Mahon who has recovered from a knee injury. The Hornets boss is however, without the injured Jay DeMerit, Darius Henderson and Marlon King as well as one time target for Peter Reid, Malky McKay who is suspended.
Coventry did the double over Watford last season, a 1-0 win at Highfield Road was followed in March by a 3-2 victory at Vicarage Road.
This is the 69th meeting between the two sides with the Sky Blues having won on twenty five occasions with twelve draws. Watford have a superior goal difference as well scoring 107 goals to City’s 95.
Season Ticket holders can again bring a mate for a tenner although these tickets should be purchased as early in the day as possible in order to avoid queues at the ticket office before kick off.
Supporters are advised to refrain from parking in the Tescos car park unless you plan to spend the mandatory £25 either in Tescos or one of the other stores at Arena Park.
At the risk of being boring, again supporters are advised to take great care when crossing the Rowleys Green roundabout. The police have said that they expect a fatality on this roundabout, so don’t let it happen to you.
