Coventry City play their third home Championship game at the Arena when high flying Reading arrive in CV6 on Saturday.
Micky Adams will be hoping to call on the services of captain Stephen Hughes and Dele Adebola who returned to training this week. Missing will be Stern John who will be late getting back from Costa Rica after international duty with Trinidad & Tobago, something Adams is not happy with.
There is a slight doubt about Robert Page who sat out Wales 1-0 defeat In Poland and Adams will be hoping that both Richard Duffy and Claus Jorgensen have returned from international duty unscathed and all three maybe left out if Adams feels they are tired from travelling and the effects of two games in a week.
Andy Morrell, Andy Whing and Adie Williams who both played for the reserves in their midweek defeat by Portsmouth all could deputise.
Reading boss Steve Coppell is without the injury Dave Kitson, Nicky Shorey and Steve Sidwell. Chris Makin is set to replace Shorey, whilst Kevin Doyle will deputise for Kitson which leaves Coppell sweating on whether Brynjar Gunnarsson has returned form international duty with Iceland in a fit state to travel to Coventry.
The Royals have again started the season well but have not performed too well in in our historic city. Last season, City took six points off Reading with a 3-2 victory at Highfield Road and a 2-1 win at the Madejski stadium. The form guide gives Reading a slight advantage, having won sixteen of the 41 matches played between the two clubs compared to fourteen for the Sky Blues.
Referee for the game is Birmingham based Andy Legg. Andy is no stranger to the non-league scene in Coventry and Warwickshire having officiated in the midland Combination, but will remembered by City fans for his performance in the Sky Blues 2-1 win at Stoke City which saw two Stoke players sent off and a string of cautions.
So far, 99 parking tickets have been issued by Coventry City Council parking attendants in both the QPR & Southampton games. Make sure you are not number 100 by parking legally or using public transport.
One place to avoid is the Arena Park. In order to park there for the duration of the game and not face a £50 parking fine, you have to spend £25 at Tescos or one of the other stores at Arena Park. Unless you are planning to spend this amount on your shopping, then avoid this area on match days.
The smoking trial continues with supporters able to smoke in the confines of the bowl during half-time only and not in the concourses.
On Saturday morning, City U18’s travel to Charlton whilst on Saturday night, boxer Baz Carey will step into the ring with Olympic Champion Amir Khan in Cardiff proudly wearing his Coventry City shirt. The fight can be seen live on ITV.
On Sunday, Coventry City Ladies play Long Eaton Villa at Coventry University. Kick off for this Midland Women’s Combination game is at 2pm.
