WHO ARE THEY?
Formed in 1884 by members of Derbyshire County Cricket Club as a way of boosting finances. Derby were founder members of the Football League and won their first game 6-3 away at Bolton Wanderers.

Their home games were played at the Racecourse Ground until 1895 when they moved to the Baseball Ground. There they stayed for 102 years before moving to the 33,597 capacity Pride Park.

Derby have won what is now the Premiership on two occasions in 1971/72 and 1974/75 under Brian Clough and then Dave McKay. They have been runners-up on four occasions. The Rams have also won Division 2 on four occasions, the last being in 1986/87 and won Division 3 North in 1956-57.
Derby won the FA Cup in 1946 but lost the 1898,1899 and 1903 finals.They have also won the Texaco Cup and were runners up in the Anglo Italian Cup of 1993.

Derby's record win came in a UEFA Cup game where they beat Irish side Finn Harps 12-0 at home. Another European Cup game in 1974 saw them beat Real Madrid 4-0 at home but lose the second leg 5-0 in a highly controversial game.

Their current manager is Billy Davies who took over in June replacing Phil Brown.

LAST MATCH
Coventry lost 1-0 at home to QPR whilst Derby drew 1-1 at Leicester .

This is the 70th league and cup game between the two sides. The Sky Blues have won on 26 occasions with 16 draws.

Back in November,Ciy lost 2-1 at home to Derby with Stern John scoring in between goals from Jon Stead and Steve Howard.

Iain Dowie only has injuries to David McNamee and Don Hutchison. All those who took part in the defeat against QPR are likely to feature. Stephen Hughes and Colin Hawkins have knocks but both should be ok.

For Derby,Steve Howard is back from suspension but midfielder Stephen Pearson is still doubtful.

The currently appointed referee is Eddie Ilderton His assistants are D.K Benton and S.G .Cooke. The fourth official is Ian Smedley.

Mr Ilderton, who has also refereed some Coventry City Ladies WPL games, was in charge for City home wins against Wolves and Burnley last season.

By road:
From the North (M1):Leave at junction 28 and head south on A38 to Derby, follow away supporter signs for Pride Park Stadium.

From the South (M1): Leave at junction 25 and take A52 to Derby, then follow away supporter signs to Pride Park Stadium.

From the South-west: From the M5, join the M42/A42 until you reach M1 junction 24. Follow A50 towards Derby City Centre, then follow signs to Pride Park Stadium.

From the North-west: Leave M6 at junction 16, from Stoke-on-Trent take the A50 Stoke-Derby link road. Join A38 to Derby, then follow signs to Pride Park Stadium.

By rail: Derby mainline station is a 15-minute walk from Pride Park Stadium. When leaving your train use the footbridge from the station directly into Pride Park.

By bus:A shuttle bus operates from the city centre.

Parking for City supporters can be found at Catalyst, which is on London Road (A6) opposite the Navigation pub.

Fast food and soft drinks are on sale inside the concourse at Pride Park where you can watch the pre-match build-up on plasma screen TV. The Crown and Cushion pub, on London Road - just up from the train station - is recommended as an away-friendly pub.
