After a 4-1 defeat at home to Crystal Palace, Micky the Motivator will have to be in top form to fire his team up for the trip down the A14 to Ipswich.
Whilst Portman Road has never been fortuitous to the Sky Blues, Ipswich have not had the best of starts and were beaten 2-0 at Reading on Sunday.
City will be without Claus Jorgensen who was sent off for foul and abusive language during the defeat on Saturday and Robert Page is also suspended.
Lillian Nallis is expected to keep his place in City’s midfield. For the Suffolk side, Jim Magilton is to be rested.
Making matters worse for the long suffering City supporters is the ticket price of £25 for an adult which in the current situation is unlikely to get the Sky Blue Army travelling in their hoards.
City went down a 3-2 defeat at Portman Road last season when Adrian Heath was in charge and lost the home games 2-1 thanks to Matty Mills slicing into his own net.
The game will be the 70th between the two clubs with City winning only 19 compared to Ipswich’s 31.
