Coventry City FC physiotherapist Michael McBride came in 2028th in today's 2012 Virgin London Marathon.
Michael, who was running for Macmillan Cancer Support, knocked nearly two minutes off his time to complete last year's course by finishing in a time of 03:09:47.
Nigel Marley was the first Coventry-based runner home. In his fourth race over the 26.2miles distance, the 28-year-old Coventry Godiva athlete came in 128th place in the men’s race with a time of 02:37:41. His club-mate Damien Carr clocked 02:41:06 while finishing in 199th place.
Meanwhile Coventry Godiva’s only representative in the women’s race 52-year-old Eileen Williams finished 1268th with an impressive 03:44:13.
Wilson Kipsang and Mary Keitany secured an impressive but unique Kenyan double by clinching both the men's and women's races.
Kipsang just missed out on Emmanuel Mutai's 2011 course record by just four seconds course record while clocking 2:04:44.
Keitany won for the second successive year with a time of 2:18:37 to lead the Kenyan sweep in the first five places.
Claire Hallissey look set to join fellow GB compatriots Paula Radcliffe and Mara Yamauchi in the women’s London 2012 marathon event after she posted 2:27:44 for an 11th place finish.
City supporter Mark Coyle finished in a time of 3.52, whilst Coventry City London Supporters Club Social Secretary Kevin Mofid finished in a time of 03:54:34.
