Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has said that it was a big ask to get Reda Johnson and Frank Nouble to start against Peterborough United.

Pressley has said at Friday's press conference that both players were major doubts but gambled on both players being able to play and both put in excellent performances which helped City come back to win 3-2 in a dramatic game at the Ricoh Arena.

"It's not often I lie," Pressley said to the Coventry Telegraph's Alan Poole. "I like to think I am very straight talking - but I had decided that they would play as they came through Friday's training because i felt it was something we needed to do.

"It was a big ask but it was the sort of boost the team needed after such a difficult period. I'm really pleased for Frank and Reda and I'm really pleased for the players who have suffered in recent weeks.

"There is great unity in the club just now - it is difficult to get that across to people after the results we have been having but we have a really honest group of players and this time they got what they deserved."
