Wigan Athletic boss Gary Caldwell described the 2-0 defeat to one of his former club's in Coventry City as a big disappointment.
Caldwell is quoted as saying: "It was a big disappointment
"We caused ourselves our own problems, dominated the game but gave away too many opportunities on the counter-attack and that's something we're going to have to eradicate quickly.
"Coventry are a team who want to play football but today they played counter-attack against us and we have to learn how to deal with that.
"They were just poor goals to concede as we had possession of the football and gave it away in bad areas and that`s what they wanted, Armstrong punished us twice with his speed on the counter.
"We have to learn, and we have to learn quickly, that we can't give possession away like that when we`re so open.
"We just go again now, it's a long season and that was a disappointment losing the first game but there's a long way to go."
