Coventry City Ladies manager Craig Nicholls was pleased with his side's second half response in their win at Wolves this afternoon.
City went in 1-1 at the break but scored three times to wrap up a 4-1 win by the final whistle.
Craig Nicholls reflected on his sides performance and said to Matty Roper: "It was a disappointing first half performance and a few home truths were shared at half time. There was a few tired legs and tired minds today after Thursday's tough game."
"The response second half was first class though and we were much better, we looked like a different team. Sometimes we have to open our eyes and look at where we can improve, and there was a definite improvement second half, another three points."

Coventry City LFC made the short journey to Hednesford to face Wolves Women with confidence high after Thursday's home win against Sporting Club Albion. The Sky Blues were looking to gain another three points and push up the table.
The game started with Wolves looking no pushovers as they pressed City high and caused them problems, but Coventry began to show some quality and keep the ball with authority. The first chance fell to the away side, a corner taken by Maz Gauntlett fell to Jade Formaston whose effort was blocked on the line, the rebound was then curled inches wide from Helen Dermody.
City then started to control in the early stages, and another chance was wasted after 12 minutes. A brilliant pass by Katie Lowder released Dermody down the right wing, she then motored towards the byline before drilling a ball across the face of goal, Samantha Quayle poking the ball just wide.
Just 6 minutes later and The Sky Blues did open the scoring, an accurate long free kick from Jade Formaston picked out Gauntlett in the area who hit the ball first time on the volley to exquisitely place it in to the corner, superb technique. 1-0 Coventry.
Conceding seemed to spark Wolves in to life however, and they began to stamp their mark on the game with some great challenges and passing moves. Confidence seemed to grow and they were illustrating that they were not pushovers, enjoying much more possession.
With 39 minutes played Wolves grabbed an equaliser from a set piece. A long free kick from 40 yards by Jennifer Anslow found Danielle Selmes in the area with her back to goal, she then managed to flick the ball brilliantly over the despairing Susan Wood with a magnificent header to level the game and send the home side in to delirium. 1-1
The away side were then warned again of the home sides threat from set pieces. Another long free kick from Anslow catching the City defence out, the ball fell to Jade Hewitt who scooped the ball over the bar. Coventry began to threaten again soon after with some good wide play but the whistle sounded shortly after to signal the interval.

Wolves started the second period brightly and carved out a chance just 1 minute in with Danielle Selmes rolling her marker before City 'Keeper Sue Wood denied her. City then had a chance of their own just seconds later, a quick counter saw Katie Lowder charge down the left wing before squaring to Maz Gauntlett, her effort then clipped the bar and went over.
Coventry then began to dominate and keep possession with much more confidence, they pressed forward and their dominance was rewarded on 56 minutes as they took the lead. A beautifully clipped outside foot pass from Callan Barber split the home defence, Helen Dermody then raced away before finishing with great composure. 2-1 Coventry.
The Sky Blues then really started to drive forward, forcing the Goalkeeper in to two good stops. The first save with her feed denied Katie Lowder before a second thwarted the City striker again to keep the score at 2-1 after hard work from Quayle down the right hand side.
Coventry's goal advantage was widened again on 70 minutes however as Samantha Quayle converted her effort. The move started with Destiney Toussaint defending well, she then shrugged off her Wolves counterpart and surged forward with great speed before playing a long ball to Quayle. The Welsh international then carried the ball towards goal before striking past the 'Keeper to bag her third goal in two games, and City's third in this game. 3-1 city.
A fourth goal always looked likely and Coventry got it just 4 minutes later courtesy of substitute Karen Clough. A long ball from Sue Wood in the City goal found Clough as the Wolves back four attempted to press and catch her offside, but the winger held her line and ran free before rounding the goalkeeper and slotting home. 4-1 city.
The away side continued to dominate the latter of the game and created chances in abundance but couldn't put any more goals away. A good second half performance from the girls though, and The Sky Blues gained another three points on the road.
