Danny Seaborne felt that the cleansheet from the 0-0 draw against Shrewsbury Town at Sixfields has given the players a good basis on which to build.
City had lost their last three games and speaking after the goal-less game, Seaborne, who was captain, told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire's Clive Eakin: "Keeping a clean sheet was one of the things we talked about and the results we need. We have not kept a clean sheet in a long time so we have worked on it hard in training and it has given us a good basis to build on.
"The wind was swirling and the same for both teams and you cannot use that as an excuse. it is that time of year and you can expect that until the end of the season.
"We wanted to win the game. We need to get into teams a bit more and create more. it was a good basis to build on, we will analyse it and go from there and roll into the next game.
"Confidence has not affected the lads too much. We have a good bunch of lads and it is just a case of grafting and getting through it and we will do that."
