Coventry City manager Andy Thorn has described Saturday's 4-1 victory at Accrington Stanley as 'a good day at the office'.
Speaking to the CT's Alan Poole, Thorn said: “That was a good day at the office because Cookie has got his side really well organised and they were up for it after beating Blackburn in the week.
“It’s a long season so we have to try out different systems but today we played the way I like to play and I think everybody could see the difference from Tuesday night.
“Nobody is going to get carried away because there were still some things out there that I wasn’t happy with and we’ll have to work on when we play Port Vale and Bristol Rovers.
“But I think we’ve shown that we’ve got the foundation of a decent side and with a couple more players coming back from injury and, perhaps, a couple of new faces. I think we’ll be ready when the season starts for real.”
