Kevin Kilbane has said that he is very honoured to be made captain of Coventry City.
Speaking to Sky Blue Player's Nick Connoll, Kilbane said: It’s a huge honour. There were a few candidates in that dressing room but once I was asked I was delighted to accept it on the spot.
“I’ve always liked to think that I have a voice anyway so it’s not going to change the way I am. I will still try to help the lads – particularly the younger lads – in any way I can both on and off the pitch.
“To the outside world it might look like you have more of an influence in the dressing room but I think we want a few leaders in there, again, on and off the pitch.
“I’ve captained teams before but I have never been handed the armband in an official way for the whole season so this is a huge honour for me and I will be very proud to lead the team out.”
