A Lot Of Encouragement To Be Gained - Robins

Coventry City manager Mark Robins felt that there was a lot to be taken from City's 1-1 draw with MK Dons at the Ricoh Arena on Tuesday night.

Speaking to the CT's Andy Turner, Robins, who was without the ill Jordan Clarke and Reece Brown as well as Cody McDonald who had picked up a knock, said: “A week ago we would have lost that game, so there is a lot of encouragement to be gained. It gives us a platform and I am looking forward to continuing our progress against Bournemouth on Saturday.

“The Dons are one of the best sides in this division. They pass the ball around well and although at times we were chasing shadows, our lads worked their socks off.

“There is a bit of a bug going round and I was without three-quarters of my defence. But I was delighted with the lads who came in, especially Cyrus Christie and Nathan Cameron, who both showed me what they can do.

“We opened brightly and created some good chances. At the end of the day, I am pleased with a point. We have now picked up four points from our last two games, which is a decent return compared to the earlier games and it gives us something to build on.”
