Sammy Clingan feels it is a privilege to be awarded the Coventry City captain's armband.
Speaking to the Sky Blue Player:, the Northern Ireland international who has been appointed captain by Andy Thorn said: "I'm over the moon about the captain's armband to be honest. It's a real privilege to captain Coventry City because it's such a big club with a lot of tradition.
"I experienced it a bit towards the end of the season and I thoroughly enjoyed it and the style of play the new manager and brought with him so hopefully we can take that sort of football into next season and build on it.
"As captain you have to set an example for the rest of the team and I have high standards anyway but I felt when the new boss took over I was a lot more consistent and really enjoyed it and enjoyed the type of play the manager wanted us to play. It's good on the eye and the boys enjoy it, passing the ball about and creating chances that way.
"Being skipper though has made me look forward to coming back. Normally you're on a bit of a downer because you've had a good summer but we've got stuck instraight away with the ball work and we've got a couple of tasty games to kick off the season so we're all relishing it."
