Coventry City players have been forced to accept a new wage structure by noon today or be transfer listed.
The players, not including those signed in this pre-season, were told at a meeting on July 30th that the club was not willing to pay around £1m in bonuses a year for a team that was relegated.
City have now implemented a new scheme which will give the players more in bonuses if they mount a challenge for promotion.
Most of the players are understood to have agreed to this and Tim Fisher told the CT's Alan Poole: "“It has been pleasing to see that the players have recognised the plight of the club and have acted in the best interests of Coventry City. “Ultimately, if we win promotion it will benefit them financially, too.”
