Arena Coventry Limited's Daniel Gidney has hit back over concerns of low profits for the Ricoh Arena and a potential deal with SISU regarding the ownership, following the stepping down of Chairman David Allvey.
Speaking to the CT's Les Reid, Mr Gidney (pictured below) said: “ACL has done a great job in maintaining and growing its profits over the last year, despite the economic climate.
“We have hosted £6.1 million worth of conferences, meetings and events – numbering more than 1,100 – in the previous year; have booked more than 16,000 bedrooms in the area worth almost £1 million to the local economy during the same period; and have recently invested in a £3.7 million improvement programme which has already reaped considerable benefits (opening up the south entrance and creating extra conference, meeting and exhibition space).”
