Arena Coventry Limited Director Peter Knatchbull-Hugessen has had a dig at Coventry City over their pitch.

Groundsman John Ledwidge is moving from the employment of Coventry City FC to Arena Coventry Limited and this gave rise for Peter Knatchbull-Hugessen to say to the Coventry Telegraph's Alan Poole: “We are very pleased to have an award-winning groundsman of such skill getting back to doing what he does best, which is looking after pitches which are of an excellent quality and design.

“He will have the proper resources to do a job that he hasn’t been able to do for quite some time while starved of funds.

“The reason ACL have taken the decision to employ him to do this is because that pitch is a capital resource. They are incredibly expensive things to build and they need to be properly maintained otherwise, as we saw for the last half of last season, you get poor grass growth.

“If we are to keep the doors open for Coventry City to come and play it would be pretty silly not to have a pitch.

“We have pitches at the Ricoh and the Higgs Centre that need maintaining and we are very lucky to have someone of John’s experience, skill and calibre to maintain them.”
