The damage that Coventry City's Jodi Jones did to his kneee during the game against Peterborough United has been confirmed as an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury.

Jones was not that long back from the same injury he sustained in the draw at Stevenage last season and Mark Robins confirmed that they expect Jones to be out for nine to twelve months.

“Unfortunately, it is the worse news," said Mark Robins at a press conference this mornning. "But he’s had his operation.

“It is a re-graft, something that is devastating for everyone especially Jodi and again, we’ve got to help him over this hurdle, it is nine months to twelve months.

“It is just an unbelievable accident really and really bad luck and our thoughts are with him and we will just look to get him back as strong as possible this time.

“It’s slightly different the way they have repaired it this time, so hopefully he can make a full recovery as quickly as he possibly can do, but it was an absolutely shocking accident.

“You look at the incident and no one is near him. The turn and the pace he was going at, meant it was damaged again.”
