Former Coventry City manager Chris Coleman has applied for the vacant manager's job at Sheffield United.
Coleman, who missed out on the job of coaching Greek side Larissa, as he is still on the payroll of Coventry City who are paying him monthly until his contract expires, has applied for the position left vacant after Gary Speed took up the offer to manager Wales.
Coleman is in the running with Gareth Southgate, Phil Brown and Sean O'Driscoll but the favourite is former Coventry City player and manager Micky Adams who has been managing Port Vale.
According to The People, Sheffield United are to speak to Port Vale tomorrow to get permission to speak to Adams, who has also managed Fulham, Leicester and Brighton and is a known Blades fan.
