Coventry City defender Blair Adams has told the Coventry Telegraph that he is delighted to have loan signing Nathan Delfouneso on his side and that he won’t have to mark him because of his speed.
Coventry travel to Ashton Gate tonight to take on Bristol City without striker Leon Clarke, who was sold to Wolves during the January transfer window. The introduction of Delfouneso into the squad has gone some way to mitigating the loss of one of the club’s top scorer.
Adams said: “That was obviously a blow because he’s been a big player for us, but that’s football. The way he was playing he was always going to get attention and in the back of our minds we probably knew he would be moving on, but we’ve still got plenty of role models for the young lads to look up to, Carl Baker, Andy Webster and Dan Seaborne and I’m sure Nathan will get goals for us.
“He’s a very dangerous player, a big name who’s played in the Premier League, and I’m sure he’ll be a great signing for Coventry.
“I’ve played against him for the reserves and I’m sure he’s scored a few goals in that time. He’s very quick and with Callum Wilson back at the end of the month these are exciting times for players, staff and fans.”
