The City boss told the CET: "I don't think it is right for me to talk about individual players but certainly we are very close to adding to the squad.
"I wouldn't say I am hopeful of doing anything before the weekend and I am getting slightly frustrated, but we have got four things on the go and they are all but agreed.
"For whatever reason the clubs we are dealing with are holding on to them until they can find replacements. Some clubs have got their own timescales and agendas and we have got to be patient, unfortunately, and abide by them.
"But we will keep trying to do something before the deadline for Saturday's game. If it happens, great, if it doesn't then it will be next week. We are looking to strengthen all areas and we are close to achieving that."
