Micky Adams is on the hunt for a central defender as an emergency loan.
The City boss was unable to field Robert Page due to what the club have described as the Welsh international having an illness and by the end of Wednesday night's 1-1 draw with Derby, he'd lost the services of Richard Shaw and Matt Heath.
"We need a genuine emergency loan which is unusual with the new rules!", said Adams to the CET. "We let Ady Williams go and Stern John looks like he is going, and with Graham Barrett out on loan we are down to 18 senior professionals, so to get the injuries we did was a bit unfortunate.
"But I thought the lads who filled in were terrific. There is a feeling at the club that Andrew Whing will be a centre-half, so I have got no doubts about him. We had a midfielder playing at left-back as well, so generally I have got to be pleased with them."
