The City boss told the CET: "Frankie is a lovely lad who has done okay but we have brought Kevin Kyle into the squad and we have got our own youngsters coming through - Kevin Thornton,Liam Davis and Jay Tabb to come back.
"So if I was to take El Idrissi that would stifle some of the kids coming through and I don't want to do that. We had a good look at him and we have decided to let him go,so we won't be seeing him in a Coventry shirt again."
