Speaking about City's defeat last night at Southampton, Micky Adams said to the CET: "There's different ways of losing and at least we went out with our boots on. "We rolled up our sleeves and gave it everything - so while we're obviously disappointed I think we can take some heart from the performance.
"I know I see things through Sky Blue blinkers, but I thought we dominated the first half and that all the better players were wearing blue shirts.
Adams On Southampton Defeat
"I've said before that I don't try to kid anybody - I don't say we played well when we didn't - but this was almost the perfect away performance.
"We defended properly, closed them down, passed well and created plenty of chances - but this showed yet again that you've got to take them when they come along.
"The first goal was a wonderful strike, although we will have to analyse it to make sure that we did our job."
