Adams On Stoke

Micky Adams was delighted with the way his side battled against Stoke saying: "You have to look at the back four, who were brilliant, and the rest of the team, who performed heroics.

"We kept our shape when we were under pressure and overall it was a magnificent display.

"If we had a fit goalkeeper at the club he would have been on the bench. Unfortunately, the day we sent Scott Shearer on loan to Rushden, Luke Steele picked up an injury in training.

"Stephen was quite happy to go in goal, and I thought he was fantastic. He is the club captain and he gave us a real leader's performance out there."
