Micky Adams said after the 2-0 win against Wolves at the Arena "It's a results business and although I'm sure all tomorrow's headlines will be about how well Wolves played, from a team point of view and from a defensive point of view I thought we were magnificent. "You have to win games of football, and when you don't people don't want to hear the excuses.
"To be brutally honest, the 11 I picked today wouldn't have been my first-choice side but we needed to change it and bring in as many fresh legs as we possibly could.
"But Richard Shaw and Ady Williams were magnificent. All these foreign players have been moaning about the number of games they're expected to play over Christmas and New Year but Richard Shaw is 37 years old and he's played three-and-a-half games in eight days - that tells you volumes about the man.
"Ady Williams is someone who has not had too many starts this season but I thought his experience would be valuable to us because make no mistake, Wolves are a good side who have players with ability.
"But football's all about opportunities so when you get one, you have to take it. Ady Williams has done that and now put himself back into the picture. "I'm not a manager who rules out anyone - players do that for themselves in terms of their performances, but if someone is doing the business nine times out of 10 I'll stick with them."
