Former Coventry City player and manager Micky Adams has left Brighton & Hove Albion by mutual consent.

Brighton had struggled this season and there had been calls for Adams head long before Tuesday night's JPT Area Final penalty defeat at Luton Town.

The board at the Withdean Stadium called a meeting yesterday afternoon and it was announced this morning that Adams had left the club by mutual consent.

There has been no mention of how much Adams was paid off but the man who told the Coventry players on his first day as City boss that he was a millionaire and had more money than all of them, is expected to have picked up a reasonable sum.

Dean White and Bob Booker took the team this afternoon for the game at Millwall which Brighton not surprisingly won 1-0.
