Akins Didn't Hear Racist Abuse

Stevenage's Louis Akins has confirmed that he did not hear the money chants and racist abuse aimed at him just as he was about to take a penalty during Coventry City's Boxing Day game at the Lamex Stadium.

A fifty year old male was heard by City supporters around him making monkey noises and use the N word. Comments and actions which were also heard by a steward inbetween Block A and B towards the back of the away end, who asked the male to leave, as Akins prepared to take a penalty on the half hour mark.

He was subsequently arrested and has been summoned to appear in court at a date to be announced.

Mr Akins was spoken to by Herfordshire Police after the game but said that he did not hear anything.
